You can supercharge your community engagement and email marketing by integrating your community with Kit. This combination allows you to automate workflows, ensuring your email communications are always timely, personalized, and relevant to your members' activities.
The actions taken by members within your community — such as enrolling in a course, joining as a new member, or RSVPing for an event — can automatically update their subscriber data in Kit. This keeps your Kit audience segmented and ready for targeted communication without manual effort.
These are the available Kit actions that can be triggered from workflow inside your community:
Add/Update Subscriber: Automatically adds new community members to your Kit email list or updates the profiles of existing subscribers with the latest information.
Add Tag to Subscriber: Applies specific tags to subscribers based on their actions or status in your community (e.g., "Course Completed: [Course Name]," "Joined Discussion Group: [Group Name]"). This is crucial for precise audience segmentation.
Remove Tag from Subscriber: Removes tags when a user's status or behavior changes within your community, ensuring your segmentation remains accurate and dynamic.
Remove Subscriber: Unsubscribes a user from your ConvertKit email list based on specific criteria you define in your community workflow.
Example Use Case:
When a user completes a course in your community, a workflow adds a tag like "Course Completed: [Course Name]" in Kit, which can trigger a follow-up email sequence or offer.
Navigate to the admin panel
Select the integrations menu and click the button on the Kit(ConvertKit) card
GroupApp will request access to your Kit account. Use the dropdown menu to select the Kit account you want to connect with GroupApp. Then, click Grant access to GroupApp.
Once the connection is successful, Kit actions will become available, allowing you to create workflows and add the desired Kit actions.

Log in to your Kit account https://app.kit.com/
Click Automate > Apps in the top navigation to access the Kit App Store.
Look for the GroupApp app and click Install to go through the installation process.
You will be redirected to GroupApp to select your community to connect to Kit.
Use the dropdown menu to search and select the community you want to connect with GroupApp. Then, click continue.
GroupApp will request access to your Kit account. Use the dropdown menu to select the Kit account you want to connect with GroupApp. Then, click Grant access to GroupApp.
Once the connection is successful, Kit actions will become available, allowing you to create workflows and add the desired Kit actions.

Follow this article Custom Fields, to create subscriber fields if they don't already exist.
Add a trigger that will start the workflow e.g Submitted a form from a landing page
Select the Add/Update Subscriber Kit action. The custom fields created on Kit will appear on the workflow as the map fields.
The data populated in the mapped fields will be sourced from the selected workflow trigger.
Select your preferred field, complete all required fields, and click "Save." Once your setup is complete, you can activate the workflow to begin automation.
